Spring Cleaning...Good for the Soul

Does warm weather inspire you?

I don't know what it is about spring, but it makes me want to do three things: dig in the dirt, clean out my closets/drawers, and drink alcoholic beverages outside. LOL. I guess the third one is something everyone wants to do in spring (and summer, winter, fall...).

I've heard it said that most people only wear 25% of the clothes in their closets. Wow. That made me take a good, hard look at my drawers and closets. I ended up with four bags of good-condition clothes, coats and winter wear that were hardly getting worn.

It felt sooooo good to plunk those four bags outside for charity pickup. It also feels really good to look at my spacious storage areas now. Really! It took less than an hour to go through my stuff and it's left me with a freedom. Like getting rid of stuff helped me get rid of some clutter in my head.

So go ahead. Try it. Clean out some of your stuff. Toss it if it's not good quality and donate it if it's something someone else would want. Or even have a yard sale and make some money.

A final word of advice: Wait until you're in the mood to be brutal. If you haven't worn/used it in six months, let it go. Don't be wishy-washy.

   “I know. I appreciate it. I already feel sort of festive.” She glanced at the drinks, white and
frothy, with a peppermint scent. She couldn’t wait to try it.
   Zac dipped his finger in the drink, and then licked it. “Perfect.” Then he dipped it again, and
held it to her lips. “Try it.”
   She held his gaze, opened her mouth and sucked on his finger. Oh shit. Molten liquid fire
went straight to her core. The zing of peppermint danced on her lips and taste buds, and the heat of his finger inside of her mouth made her system go haywire. She wanted to suck it longer, pull him in
deeper. Yes they were friends, but her feelings for Zac went deeper.
   He narrowed his eyes and moved his hand to cup her chin, forcing her to hold his gaze. “You
take care of people all the time, Abby.” His husky voice sent ripples of pleasure through her body.
   “That’s the other reason we wanted you here. For a change, let us take care of you.”
   She shook her head and opened her mouth to object. “I don’t—”
   His hand moved to the nape of her neck and he pressed his mouth to hers. His lips were gentle,
barely touching hers, which made her want more.
   She leaned toward him and he dropped his hands to her waist. The warmth of his hands, the slight
pressure of his lips made her moan and he flicked a tongue along her lips. Shivers of desire sped
from her head to her toes.
   “Let me taste you,” he whispered.

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Ever!! #cookies #christmas

It's time for Christmas baking and endulging in our favorite sweet treats! These cookies have won the Blue Ribbon for me at the county fair and disappear as soon as I move them to the cooling rack! Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Cookies
Recipe:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup salted butter (softened)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
12 ounces chocolate chips (can substitute colorful red and green chips, as pictured)
Makes: About 3 1/2 dozen

Preheat over to 300 degrees
Combine flour, soda, and salt in bowl. Whisk well and set aside.
Mix sugars with butter and stir to make a grainy batter. Add eggs and vanilla, mix until blended.
Add flour mixture and stir until mixed. Add chocolate chips. Drop dough by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart. Bake 18-20 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Enjoy!
