Fun in the Sun! What's your favorite flower?

Spring is Here
What better way to celebrate and bring a little romance into your home than by planting flowers? No matter where you live, there’s an easy way to spruce up your yard and bring color to your life.
Some flowers even do double-duty. Try one of these flowers that are beautiful to look at, but have other uses, too:
Sunflowers: gorgeous, tall plants with cheerful yellow petals. Use the seeds for bird feeders or for salads.
Roses: Just before your vase of roses starts to wilt, hang the roses upside down (I hang mine from a curtain rod over kitchen sink) by their stems. Use a rubber band to bunch them together, and then hang them with some twine. After about a month, you can take them down and make dried flower arrangements, or make homemade potpourri with the petals.
Note: Roses are also edible, but I tried one once and wasn’t too impressed. J
Lavender: This flower smells so good in a vase of water. Just like roses, you can hang these flowers upside down to dry. Then use them to make tea, potpourri, or place some dried flowers inside pillow case for a relaxing, natural sleep.
Do you have other uses for beautiful flowers? I’d love to hear about them!
